Day 42:  Logono - Finisterre, 31.1 km

We started early today in our desire to reach our destination in a timely manner. We had a cafe con leche 2 km into our walk as this was the last cafe and/or services of any kind for 15 km.  It was a long, hilly, wooded hike up and over a mountain. From the top we caught our first glimpse of the sea. It was exhilarating to recognize we had all 3 started in St. Jean Pied de Port, France where we crossed the Pyrenees and walked all the way across the entire country of Spain to get to the Atlantic Ocean. We walked across an entire country. Who does that?!?!

We enjoyed a leisurely lunch in a seaside town and then trekked on for our final 12, including walking 2 km in the sand barefooted with backpacks. We are still in awe that we have walked to Finisterre, literally meaning "the end of the earth!"  And we have the official documentation to prove it.

We have now completed our 2nd Camino. Our intention was to leave in the morning for Muxia...a small fishing village 30 km from here. We'll get our 3rd official peregrino document there. Yet tomorrow is not the day.  While enjoying a fabulous, leisurely dinner we've just decided to stay an additional night here. Taking tomorrow off means we'll take in the world renown sunset tomorrow evening at the light house...a 7 km round trip walk.  We are happy we didn't have to do that today!!
