Day 22: Mansilla de las Mulas - Leon, 18.2 km.

Less wind, a bit warmer, and much more rain. A much shorter day, walking as quickly as possible, through lots of rain to get to Leon. Did I mention the rain?

Leon is considered one of Spain's most beautiful cities. I’ve decided to take a day off tomorrow, get caught up with all there is to catch up, hunt for food that isn’t labeled a pilgrim’s meal, and explore the city. I found a perfect Airbnb located in Barrio Romantico in old town, 50 meters from Leon Cathedral. 2 bedroom, 2 bath, bathtub, full kitchen, washer, dryer...this is a huge upgrade from a backpack and a twin bed...heaven!!!

They have a lovely tradition here, when you order a glass of vino tinto (or any other drink) it only costs 1 euro and comes with free tapas. Not veggie friendly tapas mind you, but wine for 1 euro works for me, and it's the best tapas Bryan's had in Spain. Seriously, how will we ever leave??
