North Wales by Motorcycle
After being back in Budapest for just 3 days, I took off for yet another new adventure. I’ve long been wanting to see and explore Wales and to do it on the back of a motorcycle with my dear friends Cindi & Matt has been the most wonderful way to experience this country.
Wales is absolutely stunning. We drove for hours and it’s all wide-open spaces. Mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes, pastureland, and beautiful old stone farm houses with some charming villages sprinkled few and far between. It feels like the most sparsely populated country, of humans that is. It’s very densely populated with sheep. They are everywhere. Apparently, they outnumber people by 3 to 1.
We stayed in an Airbnb in Llanllyfni, located just five minutes away from the beautiful Snowdonia National Park in the northwest of the county of Gwynedd, North Wales and 7 miles away from the well-known town of Caernarfon. It is located in the historic county of Caernarfonshire. The river Afon Llyfni runs through the village and also our backyard, which was an added bonus to the lovely home we stayed in. Nearby is the Nantlle Ridge range of mountains including Craig Cwm Silyn at 734 meters/2,408 feet.
