Day 33: Sarria - Portomarin, 23.1 km.
Amazing day. Foggy morning, rolling hills, green pastures, very busy farmers working the land and herding the animals, 76 degrees for the high, blue sky, lots of tiny picturesque hamlets with tiny cafes, and our new favorite beverage on hot afternoons...cerveza con limon.
Crossing a wide river and climbing a tall staircase we found a lovely little albergue overlooking the river. We checked in, showered, hand washed our laundry, and headed out to find the perfect deck and indulge in drinking our new favorite beverage on a hot afternoon after walking 15 miles across Galicia in a single day!!!
Update on my feet…they are in full recovery, I am pleased to report. That said…whew, they are not looking pretty. Sharing pictures just because they speak the truth of the moment better than almost anything else. On the Camino, it comes back to the feet, it always comes back to the feet. Oh…and the exploration of the local churches. There is always a church to pop into and check out.
