Varenna: Al Prato Ristorante- Enoteca
Varenna has the loveliest lakeside cafes with views that are stunning and very good food. That said, there is amazing food to be found off the beaten track. This little restaurant in the quiet square right outside our front door is Michelin worthy. It can’t depend on lake side views so it held our attention and enthralled our senses with the taste and beauty of the food and pleasure of fabulous service. I think I closed my eyes with every bite and got lost in the flavors anyway...no views necessary. By far the best meal I’ve had in any location for quite some time. It was a meal to live for in the moment and will be dreamed about in the future!!
