Budapest: Street Music & Food Truck Festival

So who doesn’t love a Music & Food Truck Festival?!? Held in Liberty Square (the location of the US embassy), this was one of the many festivities happening throughout Budapest in celebration of Budapest’s August 20th birthday party called St. Stephen’s Day. (see previous post)

The Street Music Festival, to be held in Veszprém for the 22nd time, is visiting the capital for the first time to bring the “close-to-human, organized spontaneous, life-affirming” atmosphere of one of the largest free music festivals in the country to the heart of Budapest. Musicians from 14 countries contributed 151 concerts to the worthy celebration of Hungary's birthday at the 12 program venues created in Szabadság (Liberty) Square. The organizers dedicate an important role to the moving buffet of the Food Truck Show 49, which at the same time makes the event a common celebration of gastronomy, music and the nation.

It was fun to see the statue of George Bush Sr. with a beer in hand!!! FYI...the Hungarian government unveiled the statue of George Herbert Walker Bush, the 41st President of the United States, to mark the 30th anniversary of the fall of communist rule in central and eastern Europe.

Cheers!!
