Post 6: Hvar - Wine Tasting
I took a small boat to Hvar yesterday (Monday) through open ocean. Intending to have a day trip to a nearby island that I just happened to find out was hosting friends. They invited me to come visit and go wine tasting with them. Thank you social media, or we would never have known we were all in Croatia at the same time, and so closeby. So I took the bus back to Vis, on the other side of the island to catch a ferry to Hvar.
It was quite the roller coaster ride so upon arrival at 8:30am, they canceled my return departure scheduled for 7:30pm. I intended to spend the day wine tasting with my friends Sarah, Thomas, Mark, Joel & Anton and now I would also be spending the night and most of the next day. There is a catamaran that runs on Tuesdays @ 5:15pm which became my only option to get back home. It was a fun, unexpected opportunity to get to know Hvar, Hvar (the town and the island) better, as well as have more time with my friends celebrating Thomas and Mark getting married this past Friday evening. It was a spectacularly fun time visiting 4 wineries on Monday and renting our own boat on Tuesday to do a bit of island hopping.
So the adventure begins and I just made it in time to give Sharlene a hug before she flew out.
