Day 4: Pamplona - Puente la Reina, 24.2 km.

Pamplona to Puente la Reina was a trek through the greenest of green and the yellowest of yellow. The beauty is impossible to do justice to. Most of the way is through these spectacular fields and through small villages and then yet another steep ascent and decent up and over Alto del Perdon. At the top is a sculpture depicting the original pilgrims. The descent is quite steep and all loose stones of a dried river bed, so quite a challenge.

I did great up and down and was super pleased with myself. I was all "skippity doo da" through most of the day. And then, on the last three miles, my body was pretty much done so "skippity doo da" turned into a "heavy breath turned groan" for the remainder. Thank goodness no one was near to hear me!!. The good news is it was only three miles.

I can now happily report I treated my beat up feet and body, found a vegetarian pilgrim meal with red wine included for 14 euro, and now am in bed ready to start a new day!! Cheers!!!
