Barcelona: Mercat de Sant Antoni, Ciutat Vella, Barceloneta & Poblenou
Amazing day of exploration walking from our apartment first to Mercat de Sant Antoni, an amazing local market. We continued our walk through Ciutat Vella, a district of Barcelona, numbered District 1. The name means "old city" in Catalan and refers to the oldest neighborhoods in the city of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Ciutat Vella is nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the neighborhood called l'Eixample. We found yet another marvelous vegetarian restaurant called Teresa Carles. After lunch we wandered through the Gothic Quarter looking at shops and galleries and outdoor art installations. Continuing on through Barceloneta near the beach and ending up at my favorite beach pub in Poblenou.
Loved it all!!
